Frequently asked questions

What can I expect from therapy?

Before your first appointment, I will send a secure link containing information about my practice policies and a brief questionnaire about yourself. During the initial visit, we'll explore what brings you into therapy, your present concerns and challenges and what you hope to gain from therapy. Therapy is not one-size-fits all, so we’ll spend time developing a personalized treatment direction for your needs.

What happens during a therapy session?

Therapy sessions are approximately 50 minutes and typically occur once a week. A session involves a check-in about the week and review of your goal, space to process your thoughts and emotions and an opportunity to learn or practice a new skill (such as mindful breathing). Read more here about how therapy for OCD works.

Do you accept insurance?

I am in network with Cigna and Optum (United Health Care). Depending on your plan, there may be payment due at time of service. For other insurance plans, you may be able to submit a super bill for partial reimbursement. Tools like Reimbursify and Advekit can help you submit super bills and receive faster reimbursement when using out of network benefits.

What is the cost for services?

Group therapy is $60 per 75 minute session.

Individual therapy session rates vary based on the insurance code used and length of session. Sliding scale rates are available based on need ($130-200).

90837 (55 minutes): $200

90837 + 99354 (90 minutes): $295

If you choose not to use insurance for services you will receive an estimate of the expected charges. Read more here about this Good Faith Estimate.

Are online services effective?

Telehealth services are just as effective and often more convenient than in-person services. Video sessions offer more accessibility for clients who cannot drive to an office or live in areas where there are not many mental health providers. You save time by not driving to therapy and can meet at non-traditional hours such as right before work or over a lunch break. Video services are available to anyone within the state of California.

Do you have any COVID protocols for in-person therapy?

If you are feeling sick or have been directly exposed to anyone with COVID in the past 7 days, please let me know so we can do a telehealth appointment instead.
